What you can and cannot save
Tomitingo is built to provide an honest, direct utility for saving public short-form videos. We believe in providing clear technical expectations rather than misleading promises:
Public Reels Supported
Any public reel with a URL starting with /reel/, /reels/, or standard post URL /p/ can be parsed and fetched in original source quality.
Realistic 4K & HD Quality
We deliver true original resolution (up to 4K or 1080p). An uploaded reel originally recorded at 720p cannot be magically converted to 4K; we serve the highest bitrate offered by the platform without compression.
Private Account Reels Excluded
Reels posted by private accounts cannot be saved. We do not require or ask for your Instagram password, and our utility cannot access locked personal feeds.
Pristine Audio Preservation
Both the original voice track and licensed background audio are preserved inside the downloaded MP4 file, ensuring no silent video playback.
How to copy and download Instagram Reels
Downloading a public Reel onto your Android device, iPhone, iPad, or desktop computer takes only a few seconds:
Find the Reel on Instagram
Browse your Instagram feed or explore tab to find the public Reel you wish to save.
Copy the Reel URL
Tap the Share icon on the right side of the screen and choose Copy Link. On desktop, simply copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
Paste the Link into Tomitingo
Open Tomitingo's Reels downloader page and tap our handy Paste button, or manually press Ctrl+V / Command+V into the input box.
Click Download and Save
Click the Download button. Once the media card generates with video details, select your preferred resolution (1080p, 720p, or 4K if available) and click Download MP4 to store the video in your device memory.

- Link format compatibility: Ensure your link matches
instagram.com/reel/CODE/orinstagram.com/p/CODE/. Tracking parameters (e.g.?igsh=...) are automatically cleaned by our tool. - Creator account privacy: If the creator just switched their account from public to private, Instagram CDN locks media requests from unauthorized servers.
- Music region restrictions: On rare occasions, specific audio tracks are geo-blocked by music licensing holders. If a video fails, try downloading the stream without the regional audio overlay.
- Reel was removed or reported: If the post was deleted by the user or moderated by Instagram, the server returns an empty response.
